Sunday

None of that "print-out bullshit."

I saw The xx at lollapalooza in August, and they were good. So when my friend Cheyenne asked if I wanted to go again I was down with that idea... but oh my god. I knew they were going to be great, but not this great. Having just posted a rave review of about the band Foals I am sure that I seem like a super easy girl to please (musically), but its not true! There must be something in the air in New York this weekend, everyone is just playing SO WELL!
Opening up for the trio were Zola Jesus and Warpaint.
I had seen Zola Jesus open up for Xiu Xiu about a year ago and to be honest, lead singer Nika Danilova kiiiiiiiiind of scared the shit out of me. But this time I found her complete lacking in any sort of sense of reality, to be oddly amazing. She was just up there doing her thing without a care in the world and she was just feeeling her music and I dunno! It was great! Warpaint is a great pack of rocker chicks and their set was really enjoyable, but I dunno. Nothing could compare to the main dish. The xx was so powerful and frankly just epic. It was a real privilege to experience the last stop on the tour they have lived for the past 2 years.

Dance Nika Dance, Shitty phone videooo.

Play girls play! (Warpaint)
